About
Orugallu Andhalu – History & Cultures
Welcome to Orugallu Andhalu, a platform dedicated to exploring the history, heritage, architecture, and cultural traditions of India and beyond.
Our aim is to document and share stories connected with ancient temples, historic places, kingdoms, inscriptions, architecture, traditions, and lesser-known aspects of our cultural heritage.
Through our blog articles, photographs, and YouTube videos, we present historical subjects in an engaging and accessible way, while giving attention to the historical and cultural context behind each story.
Our Inspiration
As residents of Warangal, the historic capital of the Kakatiya dynasty, we have always been surrounded by remarkable monuments, temples, and traces of a rich historical past.
This connection inspired our interest in the history and archaeology of the past and encouraged us to explore and document the monuments, temples, and archaeological sites around us.
Through our blog and YouTube channel, we visit, photograph, film, research, and document heritage sites, especially places that receive little attention or have been neglected over time.
Our aim is to bring their history, architecture, cultural significance, and stories to a wider audience and help people appreciate the value of this heritage.
That is the spirit behind Orugallu Andhalu — to explore the past, document what remains, and share the richness of our history with the world.

Field Documentation
Orugallu Andhalu is both a history and heritage blog and a YouTube channel. Our content is built not only through historical research and references, but also through first-hand visits to historical and heritage sites.
Over the past 2.5 years, we have undertaken several extensive journeys across Tamil Nadu, typically spending 12–15 days on each journey to visit, experience, photograph, film, and document historic temples, monuments, architecture, and cultural heritage.
Our recent journeys have included major heritage centres such as Rameswaram, Srirangam, Chidambaram, and Madurai.
We have also undertaken a 10-day heritage journey through Karnataka, visiting Badami, Pattadakal, and Aihole to experience and document the architectural and archaeological heritage associated with the Chalukyan period.
The photographs, videos, observations, and experiences gathered during these journeys contribute to both our website articles and our YouTube videos.
Through this work, we aim to present historical places not simply as facts and dates, but through their architecture, surroundings, history, and cultural context.
Our Content
Our content is developed using historical research, reference material, field observations, and original photographs and videos where applicable.
We aim to present historical information in a clear and accessible manner while distinguishing historical information from interpretation where appropriate.
Our field visits also allow us to document details of monuments, temples, architecture, and heritage sites that may not be fully conveyed through written sources alone.
Our YouTube Channel
Alongside the blog, Orugallu Andhalu produces videos covering history, temples, architecture, heritage sites, cultural traditions, and lesser-known historical stories.
Our videos are based on our research and, where applicable, our own visits and documentation of the places featured.
Visit our YouTube channel to explore our video content.
